Discernment Intelligence
Discernment Intelligence, sometimes called the spiritual gift of Discernment or the gift of Discernment, is one of the Nine Primary Intelligences within the 9 Human Types system. Discernment has good taste and is the ability to recognize what belongs, what does not, and what is ready to be released, organized, or restored. As the Primary Intelligence of Human Type 7, Discernment guides clarity, peace, order, and wise judgment.
What is Discernment?
Discernment Intelligence is the ability to distinguish between what is appropriate and inappropriate, aligned and misaligned, useful and unnecessary, healthy and unhealthy.
Discernment brings clarity to complexity. It helps us sort, evaluate, organize, and understand the relationships between things. Where confusion creates disorder, Discernment creates understanding. Where life becomes cluttered, Discernment identifies what belongs and what can be released.
Throughout history, Discernment has been one of humanity's most valuable gifts. Judges, counselors, leaders, mediators, teachers, organizers, and peacemakers all depend upon the ability to distinguish clearly between competing possibilities. Discernment helps individuals and communities create greater harmony, balance, and order.

Discernement as a Primary Intelligence
In the 9 Human Types system, each Human Type expresses one of nine Primary Intelligences through which its Power operates.
Discernment is the Primary Intelligence of Human Type 7.
For Human Type 7, Discernment directs the Power To Organize. It allows them to bring order to complexity, create structure from confusion, and establish harmony within systems, relationships, and environments. Through Discernment, Type 7 learns how to create Peace through proper arrangement and understanding.
Yet Discernment is not limited to Human Type 7. Every person possesses the capacity to cultivate Discernment regardless of their Human Type.
Whenever someone resolves confusion, establishes healthy boundaries, organizes complexity, recognizes what belongs together, or creates greater harmony and order, they are expressing Discernment Intelligence.

Clarity

It helps people recognize what is true, relevant, and important, creating understanding where uncertainty once existed.
Organization
Discernment brings order.
It recognizes how individual parts fit together within a larger whole and helps create structure that supports harmony and function.
Boundaries
Discernment recognizes limits.
It helps identify what should be included, what should be excluded, and where healthy distinctions are needed.
Reconciliation
Discernment often restores harmony.
By recognizing misunderstandings, imbalances, and misalignments, it helps bring opposing elements into greater cooperation and understanding.
Peace
Ultimately, Discernment serves Peace.
As confusion gives way to clarity and disorder gives way to harmony, a deeper sense of Peace naturally emerges.
Discernement and Human Type 7
Human Type 7 embodies Discernment more naturally than any other Type.
Guided by the Purpose of Peace and the Power To Organize, Type 7 uses Discernment to bring order, balance, and understanding into the environments they influence. They often possess a natural awareness of systems, relationships, patterns, and structures that others may overlook.
Because Discernment seeks harmony, Type 7 frequently excels at organizing, mediating, coordinating, problem-solving, planning, and creating efficient systems.
They understand that Peace is not simply the absence of conflict. Peace is often the result of proper order, healthy boundaries, and mutual understanding.
At their best, they demonstrate that harmony emerges when everything is allowed to function in its proper place.
They remind humanity that clarity creates Peace.
